Meow

...is Avery's "word of the week." She won't stop saying it, but it sounds so cute. :) Thank goodness the week's almost over. I've been to Quincy, St. Louis, East Peoria, and Champaign this week visiting community colleges. I'm hoping my hard work pays off soon.

I went and visited my brother in the hospital today. This is his 5th hospitalization since April. For those who don't know, he has MRSA...don't ask me to spell it out, but it's the antibiotic-resistant staph infection; the "superbug." Don't freak out; he works in the hospital so chances are he acquired it there, because his employer refuses to isolate anyone until the tests come back positive. This time, his infection's in a different spot...the back of his neck, so they had to take him to the OR this time to make sure they didn't slice his spinal cord. He's pretty down, and for good reason...he hasn't had time to get health insurance since my parents' provider dropped him in...April. It's his own fault, but I hope he gets past this so he can worry about the bills from the past...not the future.

I went to Parkland to visit today; it was ironic that he happened to be in the hospital. I cried the whole way to Parkland; I knew he was scared and so was I. I'll have to wait and see what happens though. I just don't want anything to happen on Thanksgiving...my mom lost her dad to a heart attack at the Thanksgiving dinner table.

So please just keep Austin in your prayers. Thanks. :)
