What every parent wants to hear...

Seeing Bonnie's post about Lydia made me remember something that happened about a month ago. I was picking up Avery from school, and she did something. I mentioned that she was faking it, and the teacher said, "She knows what she's doing. She's the smartest in the class." ...what every parent wants to hear: their kid is the smartest. One part of me wanted to jump up and down and go, "YES!," but the other part of me said, "Uh-oh." Yep, my kid is smarter than I am. Hahaha

Anyways, I haven't posted in a while because, well, I had vacation from Dec. 20th-January 1st, and now we're on the 4-day work week schedule. I'm going to give it a month before I make my final verdict, but right now I'm so tired it's ridiculous.

If anyone wants to brag about their kid to me, go ahead and do it! It doesn't bother me when other people say that their kid is speaking a million words and my kid isn't. (She really isn't. She knows about 30-40 words, but would rather observe...) I love hearing fun stories too, so bring 'em on!

Don't you think though, that the fact that Avery is signing - that's just as good as her speaking? It's still a language and she's doing really, really well at it!

I think that's awesome!

I know it's a good thing; I'm just worried she'll use sign as her primary form of communication and then I'm screwed because I don't that much! I am proud of her though. :)
