What I'm Thankful For

A couple friends posted what they're thankful for. I had one of those lists coming, but I thought it sounded stupid and deleted it. As I started thinking today, I have a lot to be thankful for everyday, but I thought of one thing most recently.

We got to stay home for the holiday. No traveling, packing, running around for last-minute errands. We had the in-laws over for a few hours on Thanksgiving Day, but that was it. Our little family was free to do what we wanted this year. We didn't fight; no one raised their voice once (so far!), we all pitched in and cleaned...Brennan even "picked" up his toys. We went on a Black Friday adventure and only one time did we get annoyed ( A lady was in the middle of an aisle in Bergners on her cell phone and there was tables on either side of her so we couldn't go around...I finally had to get in her personal space and excused ourselves. I got a dirty look, but I was at least nice). I got to have a mommy-daughter moment at the movie "Tangled" while Bryon got nearly all our Christmas shopping done, saving us about $150 overall. As I post this, Avery and Bryon are enjoying my homemade veggie soup, watching "Uncle Buck" in the light of the Christmas tree, and it's just....nice.

Really nice. I haven't been this content in my life in around 7 years. God is amazing.
