We enjoyed a quiet Christmas morning today. Avery woke up around 6:30 a.m., her usual time, and so we decided to open gifts from Santa and each other. Avery got Elmo Live, Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, and some books and clothes. It seemed as though Bryon and I gave each other more gifts than what we gave her, but we figured each year would be less us and more her. I got an orange iPod and some fleece; I gave Bryon a wallet, gloves and a bunch of Wii and Xbox games. I figured he'd like them; he likes to play games after Avery and I have gone to bed. We made a nice ham lunch with potatoes and green bean casserole, then vegged out the entire afternoon, watching movies and House on TV. It felt kind of weird because we opened our blinds on our huge living room window and watched our neighbors head to family, but we were okay with it. We did our Christmases over the weekend, which gave us some relief that we wouldn't be arguing about stupid things (like how I hate Bryon's driving) on Christmas Day.
It was definitely a good day; a memory we caught on tape and one I hope I don't forget. Merry Christmas to all my friends and families. I hope you made many memories too!
