I didn't get the VP position; no one's got even an interview yet. I got a gracious phone call from the President this afternoon, who told me why I wasn't qualified. I already knew, so I explained my reasons for applying, and she said she understood. She also said that I'm loved and highly respected on our campus, and that the search committee won't officially pull me out of the applicant pool because of that. I told her that I was appreciative they looked through my application, and that I applied because I'm dedicated to this campus and want the best for it. She said she knew, and others know I'm a "hidden jewel." I know she has a doctorate in psych, but either way...
I'm humbled. This campus is so special to me; I really hope whoever they hire understands how protective I am of this campus.
